Job summary

Seagate is offering a Summer 2027 Internship in R&D Data Analytics, AI and Production Systems. You will modernize Linux cluster management, build production dashboards, and prototype AI solutions translating natural language to SQL, while collaborating with R&D engineers and data analysts on data quality and observability.

You will work in a cross‑functional, high‑tech R&D environment on-site at Normandale, United States, continuing school into Fall 2027.

Qualifications

• Programming experience in Python including data processing, automation, APIs or analytics applications.
• Working knowledge of SQL with relational data concepts and performance‑aware access.
• Experience using Linux for development, processing, or compute workloads.
• Familiarity with Git version control, modular design, debugging, testing, and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Modernize and improve the efficiency of Linux cluster management and data analytics production workflows.
• Develop monitoring capabilities showing production data volume and flow, status, throughput, and resource use.
• Analyze production workflows to identify bottlenecks, manual steps, and automation opportunities.
• Design and implement dashboards, alerts, logs, and metrics for production health and data quality.
• Prototype frontier AI solutions including LLM applications translating natural language to SQL.
