Job summary

The Summer Intern, Siplast, supports the Research and Development (R&D) function within the Siplast commercial roofing business. The Summer Intern, Siplast, will work with scientists and manager(s) and be a part of the Siplast R&D team based in Arkadelphia, AR.

He/she will have a great deal of opportunity to learn, contribute and develop leadership skills. All GAF internship roles are paid at an hourly rate, however, there are no benefits associated with these positions.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or possessing major in chemistry, polymer science, or engineering.
• GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Willingness to travel 10%.
• Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

• Learn, brainstorm potential ideas for optimizing commercial roofing products.
• Design and perform experiments with moderate supervision, interpret data, contribute to written reports.

Summary

The Summer Intern, Siplast, supports the Research and Development (R&D) function within the Siplast commercial roofing business. The Summer Intern, Siplast, will work with scientists and manager(s) and be a part of the Siplast R&D team based in Arkadelphia, AR. He/she will have a great deal of opportunity to learn, contribute and develop leadership skills.

Essential Duties

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Learn, be curious and brainstorm on potential new ideas for optimizing commercial roofing products and systems that will bring value to the end users (Architects, Roof Contractors, Consultants)
• Design and perform experiments with moderate to heavy supervision, interprets and evaluates data, contributes to written reports
• Collect, analyze and present scientific data to key stakeholders and senior management

Under This Roof, We Require

• Major in chemistry, polymer science, engineering or related fields. Preferably with a sophomore standing pursuing an undergraduate degree.
• GPA of 3.0
• Candidates with experiences related to lab environment are preferred
• Ability to travel and visit plants or customer sites as needed (10% time)
• Ability to participate from May, 24 2027 - August 6, 2027
• Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States, without visa sponsorship now and in the future.

All GAF internship roles are paid at an hourly rate, however, there are no benefits associated with these positions. Candidates are expected to work 40 hours per week over the summer. Base salary and/or rate of pay ranges listed are exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses. Individual compensation offers will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to geographic location, relevant candidate experience and skill, education, and/or qualifications.

Base Hourly Rate: $20.00
