Job summary

The Arkema Group is seeking an entry-level R&D Engineer to contribute to product development for NA Durable Goods in collaboration with the R&D team. You will support production scale-up, assist with customer and plant problem resolution, and work closely with Sales, Business Development and customers to uncover new opportunities.

You will participate in technical exchanges with colleagues in Europe and Asia, ensure lab safety and 5S compliance, and travel up to 10% while performing lab testing

Qualifications

• B.S. in Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or equivalent.
• Experience with adhesive applications in transportation/assembly markets preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and presentation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to product development for NA Durable Goods with R&D.
• Support production scale-up for new products with plant engineering and R&D.
• Provide support for customer and plant problems.
• Collaborate with Sales, Business Development and customers to identify opportunities.
• Participate in technical exchanges with colleagues in Europe and Asia.
• Support other product development activities as appropriate.
• Comply with lab safety and 5S policies.
• Travel up to 10%.
• Laboratory work and testing for customer requests with written and presentation reports.
• Meetings with sales, business development, customers and plants including travel.
• Coordinate with business development, sales and international teams to identify and grow opportunities.
• Contributions to site lab activities including safety, maintenance and 5S.
