Placements24 seeks an innovative Research and Development Chemical Engineer to join their Welkom-based team. You will conduct laboratory experiments, develop novel products, and contribute to IP portfolios.

The role focuses on exploring new chemical technologies, driving formulation development, and collaborating with internal and external partners to advance R&D projects in a dynamic scientific environment.

Qualifications

Master's or PhD in Chemical Engineering or related field with a strong R&D focus.
Proven experience in chemical research and development, synthesis, or formulation.
Proficiency with laboratory equipment and analytical instrumentation, and data analysis software.
Strong understanding of thermodynamics, kinetics, and transport phenomena.
Excellent scientific communication and passion for innovation.

Responsibilities

Design and execute experimental plans for new product development and process research.
Investigate and characterize novel chemical compounds and materials.
Develop and optimize laboratory-scale synthesis and formulation procedures.
Analyze and interpret experimental data using statistical and analytical techniques.
Prepare technical reports, presentations, and patent disclosures.
Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to advance R&D projects.
