Job summary

Corning is seeking a Development Supervisor to lead a team of engineers and technicians in the development of new cable products and processes. The role requires knowledge of cable design, burn testing, flame-retardant plastics, and processing techniques.

You will guide personnel while leading projects and coordinating with multiple groups worldwide. Responsibilities include design of new equipment, evaluating processing methods, and ensuring safe, high‑quality results.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in fiber optics, flame-retardant cable development, or manufacturing preferred.
• Strong leadership and coaching skills.
• Ability to execute projects with minimal supervision.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Supervise engineers and technicians in cable development projects.
• Coordinate development activities with commercial and production groups from initiation to transfer.
• Design or modify equipment to support development efforts.
• Investigate new processing techniques for innovative cable designs.
• Balance hands-on work with leadership across multiple projects.
• Document results in technical reports and presentations.
• Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing and other functions throughout the product lifecycle.
• Interface with suppliers to develop advanced processes and materials.
