Medicus Economics seeks an experienced R analyst to independently implement claims- and EHR-based HEOR studies with ownership across study design, analytics, QA, and dissemination. The role blends technical analytics, research, and consulting within a collaborative team.

The position is based in Boston, MA with a hybrid schedule (approx. two days in office) and remote work options within the U.S. Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline.
  • At least five years of relevant professional experience in HEOR or healthcare research.
  • Advanced proficiency in R for data management, analysis, and reporting.
  • Experience with tidyverse, data.table, ggplot2, and R Markdown or Quarto.
  • Experience handling large administrative claims databases.
  • Understanding of observational study design and HEOR methods.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Write, test, and maintain R code for cohort creation, data management, and statistical analysis.
  • Translate study protocols and SAPs into reproducible analytic implementations.
  • Manage and analyze complex longitudinal healthcare data sets including claims and EHR data.
  • Review and document analytic code for accuracy and reproducibility.
  • Develop reusable code and standardized workflows to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Contribute to study protocols, reports, client deliverables, and manuscripts.
  • Conduct background research to inform study design and interpretation.
  • Collaborate across the research lifecycle with team and clients.
