The roles of the Building-Based Substitute Teacher are to maintain classroom discipline and carry on classroom procedures as if they were the regular teacher. The Building-Based Substitute Teacher will maintain the same responsibilities and duties as the regular teacher, including bus duty and playground supervision. In the teacher’s absence, the substitute provides students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth while following any lesson plans and/or instructions left by the classroom teacher. The substitute enables students to develop competencies and skills that will help them function successfully in society.
