Qualifications

  • 10+ years of sales experience in the semiconductor industry, preferably automotive.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical field.
  • Proven ability to manage a complex sales cycle with revenue attainment.
  • Technically adept understanding of hardware and software and how to leverage solutions.
  • Highly organized with strong follow-up skills.
  • Ability to lead global, cross-functional resources to remove barriers and achieve sales goals.
  • Good understanding of IC products (MCUs, PMICs, Ethernet) and application development background.
  • Self-starter with autonomy and initiative.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and execute a best-in-class account strategy to maximize design wins.
  • Provide strategic assessment of new business opportunities with product teams.
  • Coordinate globally and facilitate joint meetings across teams and geographies.
  • Drive strategy toward BL goals including roadmap development and resource alignment.
  • Provide deal dynamics intelligence including requirements, timelines, and budget.
  • Analyze customer hardware architecture to position NXP solutions.
  • Develop long-term relationships with key decision makers.
  • Conduct face-to-face management meetings to address issues and updates.
  • Provide customer product information including roadmaps, demos, pricing, and quotes.
  • Understand customer supply chain, production plans, ramp and demand.
  • Maintain awareness of major customer trends and competitive activity.
  • Travel as required (e.g., Ottawa, Novi).

Location: Sunrise, FL

The Technical Sales Engineer (TSE) will be a critical member of a major automotive account team located in Novi, Michigan. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to shape NXP’s business with one of the most exciting and innovative customers in the automotive industry. The TSE will develop and expand relationships with strategically important contacts at our customer, cultivating new design opportunities, influencing roadmap decisions, and executing our growth strategy. Your knowledge of the automotive industry and ecosystem will help leverage and position NXP as a best-in-class partner. The ideal candidate has a strong semiconductor background, Account Management experience, and able to work remotely as part of a cross functional team.

Responsibilities
  • Design, deploy, and execute a best-in-class account strategy to maximize NXP design wins at a major automotive customer.
  • Provide strategic assessment of new business opportunities in cooperation with product teams. Evaluate opportunities based on the entire value chain, considering several criteria, such as technological differentiators, strategic fit, profitability, and timing.
  • Coordinate globally and facilitate joint business meetings across product teams, functional units, and geographies.
  • Drive strategy towards BL goals (i.e., roadmap development, alignment of support resources, product design in)
  • Provide deal dynamics intelligence including product requirements, decision criteria, roadblocks, timeline, budget, and competitors.
  • Understand and influence customer hardware architecture to position NXP's solutions across multiple technologies.
  • Develop solid and long-term influential relationships with key decision makers within customer teams at all levels to favorably position NXP as a trusted partner and adviser.
  • Conduct face-to-face customer management meetings to provide support, address issues, communicate updates and build strong relationships.
  • Provide customer product information, including roadmaps, demonstrations, pricing, and delivery quotations.
  • Develop and maintain an intimate working knowledge of the customer’s supply chain, production plans, ramp-up/-downs, and product demand.
  • Maintain and report awareness of major customer trends, trade development, and competitive activity.
  • Ability to travel as required (e.g. Ottawa, Canada; Novi, MI)
Qualifications
  • Preferred 10+ years of sales experience in the semiconductor industry, preferably in the automotive space.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Proven ability to manage a complex sales cycle, with a track record of successful revenue attainment.
  • Technically adept understanding of hardware and software, and how businesses can leverage NXP to deliver better end products.
  • Highly organized with attention to detail and exceptional follow-up skills.
  • Ability to lead global, cross-functional resources to remove barriers and achieve sales goals.
  • Good understanding of a broad range of IC products including Microcontrollers, Power Management ICs (PMICs), and Ethernet, as well as a solid application development background.
  • Self-starter, motivated to work autonomously.
  • Excellent communication, negotiating, and presentation skills (oral & in writing).
  • Highly proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
