Job summary

Ferco Aerospace in Greenwood, IN, seeks an Estimator to analyze data and estimate time, material, and labor to fabricate assemblies for the aerospace industry. This in-house role requires strong detail orientation and teamwork.

You'll work with purchasing, quality, operations, engineering, and customers using ERP and estimating tools to prepare final proposals and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Technical degree or equivalent experience.
• 5 years manufacturing experience with fabrications including welding.
• 2-5 years aerospace experience preferred; knowledge of GE, PW or RR.
• MRP experience and understanding sourcing of components and services is a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• GD&T proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Utilize fabrication experience to review drawing requirements and discuss risk factors; develop process.
• Determine if items fit within manufacturing capabilities and product scope.
• Use ERP and estimating tools to calculate material, time/cost, and prepare final proposals.
• Organize group packages to present value to the company.
• Collaborate with customers and estimating team including purchasing, quality, operations, engineering.
• Track RFQs and performance; provide feedback and adjust as needed.
• Review estimating processes and suggest improvements for growth.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Job description

The individual chosen for this opportunity must be self-motivated, very detailed, a team player and capable of working on several projects simultaneously. As an Estimator, you will collect and analyze data in order to estimate the time, money, materials, and labor required to fabricate assemblies for the aerospace industry.

This position is in house only. NO REMOTE OPTION. NO RELOCATION ASSISTANCE.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Utilize fabrication experience to review drawing requirements and identify special requirements or possible processing concerns; gather team as required to discuss risk factors and develop process.
• Determine if the items submitted fit within the company’s manufacturing capabilities and product scope.
• Utilize Our ERP system and other estimating tools to calculate material, manufacturing time/cost, and prepare final proposals for review/submission.
• Organize group packages to be able to present value or lack of value to the company.
• Work closely with customers as well as estimating team including purchasing, quality, operations, engineering, and staff to meet business strategies.
• Track performance of open, quoted, win/loss RFQ’s to provide feedback and understand performance.
• Track actuals on major quotes won to ensure assumptions are holding true and modify with team input as required.
• Perform reviews of the estimating process and provide suggestions for improvements that may be beneficial to the continued growth of the company.
• Performs other related duties as required.
