Job summary

Flextronics America LLC is seeking a Quote Engineer in Columbia, South Carolina, responsible for developing accurate cost models for quotes. You will work with the quote team to ensure profitability and participate in strategy discussions.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Finance and have at least 4 years of supervisory and quote engineering experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and tuition reimbursement.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of supervisory experience.
• 4+ years in Quote Engineering or Financial/Product Evaluations.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Ensure correct processes and verify assumptions with teams.
• Participate in quote strategy and kick-off calls.
• Review customer documentation for technical accuracy.
• Provide financial evaluation for the BDM team.

Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Quote Engineer located in Columbia South Carolina.

Reporting to the Sr. Director of Operations, the Quote Engineer will be the technical and financial expert on the quote team. The role of the Quote Engineer is to coordinate with the BDM, sites, Quote Project Managers and other resources and to build and manage cost models for quotes. Quote Engineers use their technical knowledge of the process, finance and other tools to develop accurate quotes to support Flex business proposals.

What a typical day looks like:

• Complete the detailed Cost models for each quote, ensuring correct processes, content and verify all assumptions with Business teams and operations
• Follow all necessary internal documented processes required for quotes
• Participate in Quote Strategy / Attend Kick-Off calls
• Detailed technical review of customer documentation as necessary
• Build and manage relationships with site engineering resources
• Check & balance of manufacturing site and sales team to ensure profitability
• Create cost models for budgetary or quick turn quotes when demand requires
• Cost Model data manipulation / Cost & Price roll-up / VAM Creation based on docs and quote strategy
• Site engineering and Finance Cost and operations communication
• Review any cost model inputs provided by sites for accuracyEnsure financial viability and accuracy of cost models used
• Documentation of any cost activity for future changes and/or evaluations
• Provide financial evaluation for the BDM Team on quote
• Provide final pricing and financial assumption to be included in quote letter
• Cost model improvement plans

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

• Bachelor’s Degree Finance or equivalent experience in Manufacturing Industry
• 4+ years Supervisor experience
• 4+ years Quote Engineering/ Financial / Product Evaluations/ Commodities
• Expert in Microsoft office
• Expert in Excel & PowerPoint
• Expert Communication Skills (Written and Verbal)
