Flextronics - The Flex Company in Columbia, SC is seeking a Quote Engineer to act as the technical and financial expert on the quote team, coordinating with the BDM, sites, and Project Managers to develop accurate cost models for quotes and support Flex proposals.

The role focuses on ensuring profitability through rigorous cost analysis, process adherence, and clear communication with manufacturing and business teams. Relocation is domestic only; sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or equivalent experience in Manufacturing.
• 4+ years Supervisor experience.
• 4+ years Quote Engineering/ Financial / Product Evaluations/ Commodities.
• Expert in Microsoft Office.
• Excel & PowerPoint expertise.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost models for each quote, ensuring accuracy and alignment with business teams.
• Follow established internal processes for quotes and ensure documentation is complete.
• Participate in quote strategy and kickoff calls with stakeholders.
• Review customer documentation for technical and financial viability of quotes.
• Build strong relationships with site engineering resources and finance teams.
• Provide financial evaluation and final pricing assumptions for quotes and letters.

Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Quote Engineer located in Columbia South Carolina. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Operations, the Quote Engineer will be the technical and financial expert on the quote team. The role of the Quote Engineer is to coordinate with the BDM, sites, Quote Project Managers and other resources and to build and manage cost models for quotes. Quote Engineers use their technical knowledge of the process, finance and other tools to develop accurate quotes to support Flex business proposals.

What a typical day looks like:

• Complete the detailed Cost models for each quote, ensuring correct processes, content and verify all assumptions with Business teams and operations
• Follow all necessary internal documented processes required for quotes
• Participate in Quote Strategy / Attend Kick-Off calls
• Detailed technical review of customer documentation as necessary
• Build and manage relationships with site engineering resources
• Check & balance of manufacturing site and sales team to ensure profitability
• Create cost models for budgetary or quick turn quotes when demand requires
• Cost Model data manipulation / Cost & Price roll-up / VAM Creation based on docs and quote strategy
• Site engineering and Finance Cost and operations communication
• Review any cost model inputs provided by sites for accuracy
• Ensure financial viability and accuracy of cost models usedDocumentation of any cost activity for future changes and/or evaluations
• Provide financial evaluation for the BDM Team on quote
• Provide final pricing and financial assumption to be included in quote letter
• Cost model improvement plans

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree - Finance or equivalent experience in Manufacturing Industry
• 4+ years Supervisor experience
• 4+ years Quote Engineering/ Financial / Product Evaluations/ Commodities
• Expert in Microsoft office
• Expert in Excel & PowerPoint
• Expert Communication Skills (Written and Verbal)
