Job summary

LFG Manufacturing Inc. is seeking a skilled Electrical Estimator to prepare accurate time, material, and labor estimates for switchgear projects.

You will collaborate with Engineering and Production to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable, and work with Sales to craft competitive proposals that meet customer needs and profitability. The role requires 2+ years in electrical estimating within manufacturing or switchgear environments, strong math and Excel skills, and the ability to read

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred (engineering, construction, business, or related field) or equivalent experience in electrical estimating.
• 2+ years of experience in electrical distribution, switchgear, or manufacturing environment preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and bid packages.
• Strong math, analytical, and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; ERP/MRP or estimation software is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills with sales, suppliers, and customers.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate time, material, and labor estimates for switchgear projects by reviewing blueprints and proposals.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Production to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable.
• Generate professional proposals that meet customer requirements and profitability targets.
• Issue RFQs, secure pricing, negotiate with suppliers, and suggest alternatives when appropriate.
• Engage with Sales to strategize bids, clarify requirements, and support customers through quotes.
• Identify value engineering opportunities to reduce costs without compromising quality.
• Maintain cost databases and supplier information, ensuring documentation for bids and proposals.
• Track open quotes and support post-award transitions and reviews.
