Job summary

CERATIZIT USA in Charlotte, NC, is seeking an Exempt Quotation Manager responsible for total quotations management for custom-engineered tooling, maintaining quality and timely delivery, pricing tools based on cost margins and market comparisons, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

The role interfaces with sales, engineering, and product proposal teams, works with CERATIZIT Group, and requires travel up to 25% nationwide and international.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years plus of tooling experience and understanding of tooling applications.
• Prior Product Management experience preferred.
• Previous sales experience in metalworking industry desirable.
• Clear understanding of metalworking tools and materials.
• Experience with SAP.
• Quality oriented and detail focused.
• Able to solve problems independently and in groups.
• Excellent interpersonal, listening, and communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Provides technical support on large tooling programs from inquiry to order placement and delivery.
• Generate and update quotes; recalculate pricing to ensure margins.
• Interface with sales, engineering, and order processing on pricing and proposals.
• Act as liaison between CERATIZIT Group and subsidiaries on orders.
• Maintain communications with engineering and manufacturing teams.
• Handle quotation calls to ensure customer satisfaction and timely responses.
• Verify reference materials for RFQs (BOMs, drawings, quotes, cost histories).
• Follow up with sales engineers and customers for missing information.
• Contribute to group success and participate in group responsibilities.
• Support market planning, sales promotion, and training for product range.
• Recommend sales strategies based on market research and competition.
• Provide technical leadership in promotion and application of product line.
• Collaborate with marketing on catalogs and promotional materials.

Position Summary

Provides total quotations management for CERATIZIT custom-engineered product request for quotes, specifically maintaining quality and delivery reliability. Responsible for pricing of special tools based on cost versus set profit margins and market comparisons. Contributes to quality by ensuring concepts are accurate, deadlines are met, and all miscellaneous coordination is complete to ensure complete customer satisfaction.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Provides technical support on large, project-sized tooling programs from concept development of the customer inquiry through order placement and tool delivery, including but not limited to generating and update quotes. Calculating new tools overestimates and recalculate pricing on existing tooling to make sure the set margins are achieved.
• Interface internally with product proposal support staff, in conjunction with sales on issues of pricing, application engineering, design engineering and order processing.
• Act as liaison between parent company CERATIZIT Group and subsidiaries on all issues relating to custom-engineered product orders.
• Maintain positive, open communications with the engineering and manufacturing teams.
• Handle quotations phone traffic: route or handle calls to provide highest level of customer satisfaction, including the timely return of phone calls.
• Group and verify all reference material for incoming RFQ’s including but not limited to: BOM verification, print drawings, previous reference quotes and cost histories.
• Follow up with sales engineers and/or customers to get any omitted or unclear information required for RFQ.
• Contribute to group success by fulfilling any of the regular group responsibilities.
• Responsible for the entire range of market planning, sales promotion development, training and sales support activities for their range of products.
• Recommend sales strategies based on market research and competitor analysis.
• Provides technical leadership in the promotion and application of product line.
• Works closely with marketing on development of catalogs, fliers and promotional materials, ensuring compliance with acceptable standards.
• Stay current on industry trends, practices, and competitive information.
• Works with engineering to define manufacturing processes for new product quotations
• Performs other duties as directed.

Education And/Or Experience Required

• 3 to 5 years plus of tooling experience and an understanding application of tooling.
• Prior Product Management experience preferred
• Previous sales experience in metal working industry is desirable.
• Must have a clear understanding of metal working tools and the materials being machined.
• Experience with the use of SAP
• Must have a quality orientation and be detail oriented.
• Must be able to solve problems independently and in groups.
• Excellent interpersonal, listening and communication skills.
• Computer literacy with Microsoft Office, including strong knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
• Willingness to travel by car/ airplane within the US and internationally

Travel Requirements

25% travel / overnight stays required – a valid Driver’s License is required
