About the Role
Vestas is seeking an experienced Quality Supervisor to lead daily quality operations and support the production of high-quality products through effective quality management practices. This position is responsible for ensuring product conformity, compliance with Quality Management System (QMS) requirements, timely inspections, nonconformance (NC) management, product release activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have experience leading teams in a manufacturing or production environment, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to maintaining quality, safety, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Operations & Compliance
- Lead daily quality activities, ensuring consistent execution of inspections, product verification, and product release processes.
- Oversee nonconformance (NC) identification, documentation, containment, investigation, and closure.
- Ensure compliance with QMS requirements, quality standards, and customer expectations.
- Reinforce a quality-first culture and promote adherence to standard work procedures.
- Supervise, coach, and mentor Quality Technicians to improve performance and competency levels.
- Conduct performance evaluations, one-on-one meetings, and ongoing coaching sessions.
- Establish clear expectations and foster accountability within the team.
- Coordinate staffing and shift coverage to meet quality and production objectives.
Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement
- Lead shop floor quality issue resolution using structured problem-solving methodologies, including:
- 5 Why Analysis
- 8D Methodology
- Daily Management Processes
- Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA)
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives through Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen events, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), and 5S methodologies.
- Monitor corrective actions and verify effectiveness to prevent recurrence.
Operational Excellence
- Prioritize workloads to support production schedules and delivery requirements.
- Ensure accurate reporting and integrity of quality data within MES, ERP, and other manufacturing systems.
- Analyze operational trends and quality metrics to support decision-making and process improvements.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, supply chain, and other cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues.
Safety & Environmental Compliance
- Promote a safe working environment through enforcement of safety procedures and company policies.
- Ensure compliance with HSE regulations, permit requirements, and workplace safety standards.
- Participate in safety meetings and elevate incidents or concerns as required.
- Support workplace organization initiatives through 5S and continuous improvement practices.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 3 years of quality, manufacturing, production, or related industry experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous experience leading, supervising, or coordinating teams in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ERP/MRP systems.
- Experience with quality inspections, nonconformance management, and product release processes.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Knowledge of Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), 5S, CAPA, and 8D methodologies.
- Experience working with MES systems and manufacturing reporting tools.
- Industry certifications related to Quality or Lean Manufacturing are a plus.

Salary Range: $78,000 - $98,000 annually (based experience, qualifications, and skill set).
