Job summary

Malloy Chevy in Charlottesville is seeking a Quick Lube Service Technician to join our busy quick-lane shop. You will perform maintenance services, oil changes, fluid checks, and light diagnostics while gaining experience across EV, gas, diesel and commercial vehicles.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year in service department is required.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Ability to identify problems quickly and communicate findings.
• Knowledge of automobiles and basic diagnostic concepts.
• Willingness to learn new technology and repair procedures.
• Comfortable operating electronic diagnostic equipment.
• Able to lift 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic computer skills and positive, friendly attitude.
• Dealership experience and ASE certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance tasks such as oil changes and fluid checks.
• Inspect belts, filters, air levels, and vehicle gauges.
• Test drive vehicles to ensure systems function correctly.
• Diagnose issues and repair or replace worn parts as needed.
• Use power tools and diagnostic equipment to complete repairs.
• Mount and balance tires and ensure proper installation.

Malloy Chevy in Charlottesville is looking for a Quick Lube-Tech to join our growing quick-lane shop. Our maintenance volume is growing and we need technicians to join our growing team! The right candidate will have a strong service technician background. The day-to-day duties includes maintenance services, fluid exchanges, basic maintenance; brakes, tires, and light diagnostic work. We have a fantastic shop of technicians and we would love to see you come and grow with us. This position lines up the right person to gain experience with the brand, grow their certifications, and to move into the main shop. It puts you on track to learn various areas of the automotive field, from EV to gas vehicles, to diesel and commercial vehicles.

This role will mainly be focused on fluid checks and basic maintenance. Typically, a Quick Lube Service Technician will change a vehicle's oil, check the transmission fluid and other fluid levels, inspect various belts and filters, and check air levels and gauges.

Quick Lube Service Technician Responsibilities:

• Test to check whether systems and components are secure and working properly
• Isolate the systems or components that might have caused the problem
• Drive the vehicle for testing purposes
• Maintain efficiency and accuracy in diagnosing as well as repairing vehiclesRepair or replace worn parts ahead of the vehicle’s breakdown or damage
• Use power tools, machine tools, and common hand tools to perform various tasks

Quick Lube Service Technician Requirements:

• Minimum of 1 year in service department required
