Job summary

Cooper Automotive is seeking an experienced auto technician to diagnose and repair vehicles within a busy service department. You will use electronic diagnostic equipment to identify issues and perform necessary repairs.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • ASE Certification or technical degree is preferred.
  • One year in a service department is required.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record is required.

Responsibilities

  • Test to check systems and components are secure and working properly.
  • Isolate the systems or components that might have caused the problem.
  • Drive the vehicle for testing and inspect and refill fluid levels as necessary.
  • Ensure tire pressure and inflate, clean and lubricate fittings as needed.
  • Install a new oil train plug and oil filter and communicate oil levels to teammates.
  • Maintain efficiency and accuracy in diagnosing and repairing vehicles.
  • Repair or replace worn parts ahead of breakdown or damage.
  • Use power tools, machine tools, and common hand tools to perform tasks.

  • ASE Certification/Technical degree (preferred)
  • One year in a service department
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
