Job summary

Mills Automotive Group at Classic Ford of Columbia is hiring a Lube Mechanic / Quick Lube or Prep Technician on site in Columbia, SC. This entry-level role pays up to $20.00 per hour and requires only a basic automotive background and tools to perform light vehicle service.

You'll perform oil and filter services, tire rotations, and inspections, with training provided. Attendance at manufacturer and internal training is included, and benefits like medical, dental, vision, 401k, and paid vacation

Qualifications

• Basic automotive background and adequate tools to perform light service.
• Entry level; training provided to candidates.
• Dealer or independent shop experience in Quick Lane a plus.
• Dealership experience not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic maintenance and oil/filter services on Ford/Lincoln vehicles.
• Tire rotations, balancing, replacements and repairs.
• Battery testing and replacement.
• Inspect vehicles using multi-point inspections and report needs via repair order.
• Complete manufacturer training as required.

Overview

Lube Mechanic / Quick Lube or Prep Technician

To support our continued growth, the Mills Automotive Group has a need to add several Quick Lane / Express Service Technicians to our growing team located at Classic Ford of Columbia. This position pays up to $20.00 per hour. Ideal candidates MUST HAVE basic automotive background and adequate tools to perform light service on vehicles. Quick Lane or express service experience at an independent or dealer is desirable. DEALERSHIP EXPERIENCE IS NOT REQUIRED.

Responsibilities

• Conduct basic maintenance and filter services on Ford / Lincoln vehicles
• Oil and filter services
• Tire rotations, balancing, tire replacements and tire repairs
• Battery testing and replacement
• Inspect vehicles for needs and service needs using multi-point inspections and test tools
• Document and report on items completed and in need of further service via repair order and dealer computer system
• Complete and attend manufacturer training as required

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills and ability to be a team player
• Trainable. This is an entry level position. We will train the right candidates regardless of experience level
• Outgoing and friendly personality
• Professional appearance, well maintained personal appearance
• Technical certification and training a plus
