Job summary

ASM International is seeking a Process Engineer for Quench & Temper to support heat treatment processes, equipment performance, and product quality. You will partner with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, and Technical Services to analyze data, troubleshoot issues, and improve throughput and reliability.

The role involves startup readiness, process validation, training, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards across a 24/7 manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • Minimum 5 years in process engineering, quality, heat treatment, manufacturing operations, or related support in heavy industrial settings.
  • Strong understanding of process control, equipment capability, data analysis, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as technical resource for Quench & Temper operations including heat treatment parameters and process control expectations.
  • Monitor process performance and drive corrective actions to improve quality, throughput, reliability, and cost.
  • Analyze production data and trends to identify opportunities for defect reduction and productivity increase.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Operations, Maintenance, Automation, and Technical Services to investigate deviations and implement CAPAs.
  • Develop and maintain process control plans, SOPs, inspection expectations, and troubleshooting guides.
