Job summary

Dal-Tile Distribution, Inc. in Dickson, TN, seeks an experienced Maintenance Electrician to install, repair, and maintain electrical energy distribution in a manufacturing setting. You will work with programmable controllers and drive project tasks to completion.

The role requires PLC knowledge, safety-focused maintenance, and the ability to lead projects while coordinating PMs and inspections. A strong electronics background and associate degree are preferred, with opportunities for growth

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; knowledge of electrical code.
• Associate degree in industrial electronics preferred.
• 4+ years industrial maintenance experience and 2+ years industrial electrical experience.
• Formal PLC training preferred.
• Basic computer knowledge (Microsoft Office).

Responsibilities

• Lay out and troubleshoot PLC analog/digital signals and network communication.
• Inspect and maintain safety devices related to the process equipment.
• Complete basic hydraulic and pneumatic circuit modifications.
• Ability to lead projects and complete successfully.
• Set up basic VFD/drivers parameters and troubleshoot alarms.
• Ensure assigned area and satellite shop area are clean and organized.
• Provide supervisor a list of parts required to complete tasks.
• Prioritize activities for PMs, work orders, and inspections.
• Draft, request, and validate SOPs for assigned area to train staff.
• Support maintenance during unplanned downtime (call in or phone call).
• Respond to radio calls in assigned area.
• Be available for remote or on-site support outside normal hours.
• Drive area task completion for reactive repairs and proactive work.
• Complete all PMs in the area; identify PMs needing updates.
• Suggest maintenance staff development when required.

Primary Objective:

Performs a variety of electrical trade functions in the installation, maintenance, repair, and/or distribution of electrical energy. Installs, maintains, and replaces electronic programmable controllers in a manufacturing environment.

Major Function and Scope:

• Basic PLCs lay out and trouble shoot of analogic/digital signals and network communication.
• Inspect and maintain the safety devices related to the process equipment.
• Complete basic hydraulic and pneumatic circuit modifications.
• Ability to lead projects and complete successfully.
• Set up basic VFD/DRIVERSs parameters and troubleshoot alarms.
• Ensures assigned area and satellite shop area are clean and organized.
• Provide the supervisor a list of parts required to complete tasks.
• Prioritize activities for assigned areas (PMs/Work Orders/Inspections).
• Draft, request, and validate SOPs for assigned area to guarantee other team members are trained on documentation.
• Support the rest of the Maintenance Department during unplanned downtime (call in or phone call).
• Respond to radio calls in assigned area.
• Be available for remote support or on-site support outside of normal work schedule.
• Responsible to drive area task completion for reactive repairs and proactive work.
• Responsible for completion for all PMs in the assigned area.
• Identify PMs that need update to improve process.
• Suggest and request maintenance personnel skills development when required.

Experience and Knowledge Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent experience. Knowledge of electrical code.
• Associate degree in industrial electronics preferred.
• 4 or more years industrial maintenance experience and 2 years industrial electrical experience.
• Formal PLC training preferred.
• Basic computer knowledge (Microsoft Office).
