Job summary

Carmeuse Lime & Stone Inc. in Alabama is seeking a night-shift production supervisor to oversee the Quarry and Stone Processing Plant operations.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent in technical/mining discipline; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 5+ years direct production supervisory experience in manufacturing with focus on safety, environment, quality, process and people.
• Industry background in mining, stone processing, cement or related manufacturing is highly preferred.
• Direct experience with Crushing and Material Processing.

Responsibilities

• Oversee nightly plant production activities for the Quarry and Stone Processing Plant Operations on night shift.
• Directly supervise the activities of front line production employees.
• Provide coaching and mentoring to develop production employees.
• Manage conformance to safety and environmental programs; hold employees accountable for safety, environment, quality and processes.
• Provide positive and corrective feedback to subordinates and peers; ensure proper training on procedures.
• Assist production team to support short and long range vision with emphasis on sustainability and creativity.

Job description

Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

• Oversee the daily plant production activities for the Quarry and Stone Processing Plant Operations on night shift;
• Directly supervise the activities of the front line production employees charged with the performance and verification of production activities throughout the plant;
• Provide coaching and mentoring to develop production employees;
• Manage, participate, and adhere conformance to the company safety and environmental programs;
• Must be able to hold employees accountable for safety, environmental, quality, and process related procedures; Must be able to provide positive and corrective feedback to subordinates and peers;
• Ensure that employees are properly trained on all pertinent procedures;
• Assist production team to execute and contribute to the short range and long range vision for the quarry with emphasis on long term principles, sustainability, and a creative work environment;
• Must be able to obtain a minimum CAT/Carmeuse Level 2 certification
• Responsible to identify and initiate actions to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformities relating to product or process;
• Must be able to provide positive and corrective feedback to subordinates and peers;

Qualifications include:

• Candidates will have an Associate’s Degree, or equivalent experience, in a technical or mining related discipline, Bachelor’s Degree is highly preferred;
• 5+ years direct production supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment, with focus on, safety, environmental matters, quality, process, and people;
• Industry background in manufacturing related to mining, paper mills, steel plants, refractory, heavy equipment fabrication, stone processing, cement plants, etc. highly preferred;
• Direct experience with Crushing and Material Processing;
• Ability to analyze and understand process trending;
• Good Leadership skills with strong interpersonal/people skills;
• Must be results driven and a self-starter, easily understands and follow directions;
• Positive and proactive attitude with ability to address issues and implement solutions as required;
• Must be able to work in a team environment and willing and able to adapt to fast-paced changing environments.
