Job summary

Haynes Materials Company is seeking a Quarry Laborer for our Seymour quarry in Seymour, CT. This full-time, outdoor role supports safe and efficient production of crushed stone and aggregates, performing general labor around crushers, conveyors, and stockpiles while following MSHA regulations.

You will operate light equipment, assist with maintenance, dust control, and environmental tasks, and participate in daily safety talks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; equivalent work experience considered.
• Ability to read and follow safety instructions, work orders, and posted procedures.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to the quarry.
• Willingness to complete MSHA Part 46 New Miner Training and annual refreshers.
• Willingness to work early mornings, overtime, and Saturdays during peak season.
• Ability to work as part of a crew and take directions.
• Prior quarry or heavy construction experience is a plus.
• MSHA Part 46 or Part 48 training certificate is a plus.
• Experience operating skid steer or loader is a plus.
• OSHA 10 or first aid/CPR certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• Clean spillage and buildup around crushers, screens, conveyors, and transfer points.
• Assist with routine plant maintenance and minor repairs.
• Perform pre-shift examinations and report hazards.
• Monitor plant flow and communicate with operators by radio.
• Assist with stockpile management and debris control.
• Operate light equipment as trained.
• Support dust control and environmental compliance.
• Load trucks and direct traffic in the yard.
• Wear PPE and participate in MSHA training.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
