Job summary

Haynes Materials is seeking a Quarry Laborer to support the safe, efficient production of crushed stone and aggregate at the Seymour quarry in Seymour, CT. The role involves hands-on labor around crushers, screens, conveyors, and stockpiles, with outdoor work in all weather and a strict MSHA safety focus on every shift.

The position requires assisting operators and maintenance, performing pre-shift inspections, helping with dust control, and maintaining housekeeping.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; equivalent work experience considered.
• Ability to read and follow safety instructions, work orders, and posted procedures.
• Valid driver''s license and reliable transportation to the quarry site.
• Willingness to complete MSHA Part 46 New Miner Training and annual refresher.
• Strong work ethic, dependable attendance, willingness to work early mornings, overtime and Saturdays during peak season.
• Ability to work as part of a crew and take directions.

Responsibilities

• Clean spillage around crushers, screens, conveyors, and transfer points using hand tools.
• Assist with routine plant maintenance under supervision.
• Perform pre-shift examinations and report hazards.
• Monitor plant flow and coordinate with operators.
• Assist with stockpile management and keeping haul roads clear.
• Operate light equipment as trained.
• Assist with dust control and environmental duties.
• Help load trucks and direct vehicles within the yard.
• Wear PPE and participate in MSHA safety talks.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Foreman or Superintendent.
