Job summary

Maine Drilling & Blasting Inc. is seeking labor-oriented individuals to support construction and blasting activities in Maine. The role involves outdoor work in varying weather, strict safety adherence, and potential travel/out-of-town assignments.

Starting pay ranges from $18 to $20 per hour, with stipends for travel. Ideal candidates are safety-minded, able to lift and carry, and willing to learn drilling and blasting procedures under supervision.

Qualifications

• Must be safety-minded and able to work well outdoors in varying weather environments.
• Must be able to perform job specific instruction provided by Superintendents, Blasting Supervisor or Drill Operators.
• Out of town/state travel and overtime may be required.

Responsibilities

• Must adhere to Company Safety procedures and policies
• Physical agility
• Submit weekly time records with accurate hours
• Learn safety aspects of working construction sites and around explosives
• Take direction and perform construction laboring activities
• Work unsupervised occasionally
• Pump blast holes dry with water pump
• Load and unload explosives from truck
• Carry buckets of stemming stone to stem blast holes
• Maintain clean and organized job site
• Other duties as assigned
• Attend all meetings
• Participate in monthly Foreman and safety meetings
• Participate in daily safety meetings
