Harrison Construction Company, a CRH company, is hiring a Quarry Laborer in Waynesville, NC. You will perform general labor at the quarry under foreman instructions, with emphasis on safety, inspections, and equipment care.

Required are the ability to follow procedures, participate in pre-shift inspections, PPE usage per MSHA rules, and a readiness to work overtime in a team environment. High school education or GED is preferred.

Qualifications

• Follow safety policies and report problems to foreperson or safety manager.
• Perform daily pre-shift inspections and report repairs.
• Inspect equipment and safety items at end of shift.
• Grease equipment as needed and perform basic maintenance.
• Wear PPE in designated areas as required by MSHA.

Quarry Laborer - Waynesville, NC

Job Description Summary

• The Quarry Laborer is responsible for general laborer duties at quarry as instruction by foreman.

Requirements

• Properly follow all company policies and procedures for safe working procedures and environment. Report any problems to the Foreperson, Safety Manager, or Human Resources Manager.
• Perform daily pre-shift inspection followed with submission of a report for any repairs needed.
• Inspection of equipment and safety items required at the end of each shift.
• Greasing equipment as needed is required during pre-shift and at the end of each shift.
• May make normal operating adjustments to equipment. Job requires cleaning and washing of vehicle.
• Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers and supervisors at all times
• Ability to be flexible with schedule changes, location changes, time of shift changes. Overtime work required.
• Must report to the assigned job site and be ready to begin work at the designated start time
• Attendance required according to company attendance policy to ensure crew is able to operate at normal efficiency level
• Strict adherence to Company safety requirements and procedures
• Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other Quarry duties as required
• Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by MSHA.
• Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently under a variety or working conditions as instructed by foreperson
• Ability to understand and follow verbal instructions

• Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as being able to work independently with attention to detail

• Uses hand tools such as wrenches/screwdrivers
• Vision abilities (with correction) include close, distance peripheral, depth, and the ability to focus
• Requires occasional of up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to adapt and work in all weather conditions
