Position Overview

Assist the foreperson in maintaining a safe and compliant work environment at the worksite.

Key Responsibilities

1. Maintain cleanliness of work platforms and surrounding areas.
2. Operate skid steer to manage quarry access points.
3. Perform cleanup tasks using hand-held tools, ensuring safety around moving equipment with proper PPE.
4. Conduct pre-operational checks and service all assigned mobile equipment.
5. Operate light mobile equipment as directed.
6. Run the crushing plant as instructed.
7. Assist with plant repairs as needed.
8. Perform water cleanup safely, avoiding electrical hazards and slippery surfaces.
9. Report issues affecting work to the foreman.
10. Be aware of environmental sensitivities and address potential environmental issues.
11. This position is considered safety sensitive due to the nature of the work.

Qualifications

Must be able to perform all essential duties satisfactorily.

Education/Experience

• High school diploma or GED required.

Work Requirements

• Complete MSHA training within 90 days of employment.
• Complete Miner training prior to working in the facility.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Knowledge/Skill Requirements

• Learn to grease motors and gearboxes.
• Learn to repair conveyor belts.
• Practice safe shoveling and lifting techniques.
• Perform hazard assessments before starting work.

Physical Requirements

• Work any 8-12 hour rotating shift, including weekends.
• Stand or walk more than one-third of the time, sit less than one-third.
• Reach, handle, and feel with hands and arms.
• Climb, balance, kneel, stoop, crouch, or crawl.
• Wear hearing protection in noisy areas.

Work Environment

• Work in elevated or confined spaces.
• Climb ramps, stairs, and ladders as needed.
• Work outdoors in various environmental conditions, including sun exposure.
• Wear respirators in areas with fumes, dust, or poor ventilation.
