Job summary

CRH APAC-Inc., Kansas City, is seeking a Quarry Foreperson to lead day-to-day quarry operations in a fast-paced setting. You will coordinate with the Quarry Superintendent and Maintenance Foreman to ensure safety, quality, and efficient scheduling of maintenance, driving production and team performance.

The role requires strong leadership, hands-on maintenance oversight, and a commitment to OSHA/MSHA standards.

Qualifications

  • Two years of related quarry or industrial experience and/or training preferred.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Pass pre-employment physical, drug screening, and a criminal background check.
  • Willingness to travel and work night/weekend shifts when required.
  • Commitment to wearing PPE (Face Shield, Hard Toe Safety Shoes, Coveralls) in designated areas as mandated by OSHA/MSHA.

  • Lead by example in adhering to company policies and all OSHA/MSHA regulations.
  • Oversee daily maintenance and coordinate major repairs with the maintenance team.

  • Motivate, schedule, and supervise quarry personnel; manage time and attendance.
  • Train team members in equipment operation, servicing, and minor repairs to build cross-functional expertise.
  • Step in to assist with hands-on labor when needed, demonstrating commitment to collective success.
  • Maintain reliable and regular attendance for consistent operations.
  • Contribute to other duties as assigned, growing your skillset and value to the team.

Position Overview

Step into a vital leadership role, responsible for the quarry’s day-to-day operations. You’ll coordinate with the Quarry Superintendent and Maintenance Foreman to ensure smooth operations, quality control, and effective scheduling of maintenance. Knowledge & Skills
  • Solid understanding of materials, methods, and tools involved in plant maintenance.
  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capacity to use equipment and tools properly and safely.
  • Proven ability to work effectively and efficiently with others.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
  • Frequently required to climb, balance, and perform tasks involving physical agility.
  • Regularly sit, climb, and use hand signals or equipment; occasionally stand, walk, crawl, kneel, bend, stoop, crouch, or reach above shoulder height.
  • Lift and move objects weighing up to 25-50 lbs as needed.
  • Work primarily outdoors, often in extreme weather and environmental conditions.
  • Comfortable working in all weather conditions; exposed to jobsite hazards such as moving machinery, high places, airborne particles, and loud environments.
  • Must have specific vision abilities, including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, to operate equipment safely.
