Job summary

Scotty's Contracting and Stone is seeking a Quarry Field Mechanic to maintain and repair heavy equipment in our quarry operations. The role requires hands-on diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and adherence to MSHA safety regulations.

As a full-time employee, you will work outdoors in varying weather, lift up to 50 pounds, and join a team committed to reliability, safety, and meeting production goals; nights, weekends and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• Able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and overtime.
• Lift up to 50 pounds.
• Self-motivated and able to work without constant supervision.
• Ability to get along with others and provide good customer service.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair heavy quarry equipment (crushers, conveyors, screens) and perform diagnostics.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Carry out preventative maintenance and safety inspections per guidelines.
• Replace defective parts using hand tools and welding equipment.
• Keep accurate maintenance logs and service records.
• Coordinate with maintenance and operations to minimize downtime.
• Operate equipment for testing and movement within the quarry.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Comply with MSHA safety regulations.
