Job summary

Universal Quantum seeks a Systems Engineer to own the systems engineering of complex quantum computing systems, subsystems, and capabilities from definition through integration and deployment.

The role spans electronic, mechanical, cryogenic, vacuum, optical, software, and control domains. You will work with Architecture, Product, Quantum, and Engineering teams to define clear boundaries and interfaces and drive issues to resolution.

Qualifications

• Experience applying systems engineering across complex, multi-disciplinary programmes.
• Ability to manage requirements, interfaces and technical budgets.
• Proven track record in risk identification and corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Apply and evolve systems engineering lifecycle, standards, and MBSE where appropriate.
• Own systems engineering of allocated systems, interfaces, and acceptance criteria.
• Provide input to design reviews, readiness, test, and acceptance activities.
• Manage requirements, interfaces, dependencies, and technical risks to resolution.
• Collaborate across research, engineering, product, and quality teams to resolve system-level issues.
• Define verification plans and criteria, and oversee integration and testing.
• Ensure reliability, safety, regulatory and contractual compliance with evidence.
