• 10+ years of systems engineering or system architecture experience in complex hardware-software environments.
• Proven track record integrating multidisciplinary systems (hardware, software, controls).
• Strong requirements definition, interface management, and system integration skills.
• Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-evolving R&D environments.
• Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities.

Responsibilities

• Translate scientific goals into actionable engineering requirements and traceability.
• Produce living system architecture diagrams reflecting reality and evolving with the machine.
• Identify missing architectural elements, interfaces, and integration risks early.
• Lead system-level trade studies and technical decision-making with engineering and scientific leaders.
• Maintain architecture across quantum hardware, control electronics/firmware, and software layers.
• Foster trust with scientists and reflect constraints accurately in system models.
