Job summary

You will develop software for complex experiment sequences, device drivers for custom hardware, and collaborate with physicists and data engineers. The role includes mentoring junior engineers and promoting CI/CD and good practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years relevant software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Familiarity with C++.
• Experience with one or more relational database systems.
• Solid understanding of core CS fundamentals — data structures, algorithms, architectures.
• Familiarity with scientific test instrumentation and communication protocols (VISA, TCP/IP).

Responsibilities

• Develop software for execution of complex sequences of experiments, measurements, and calibrations.
• Develop device drivers for custom hardware and scientific instruments.
• Collaborate with experimental physicists to understand requirements and enable laboratory capabilities.
• Collaborate with data engineers to organize and store quantum device data.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices across programming, version control, CI/CD, and documentation.
