Infleqtion is seeking a Quantum Software Engineer to advance nuclear physics applications through quantum algorithms and software. You will implement, test, and optimize code applying QPE, VQE, and Hamiltonian simulation to challenging physics problems, collaborating with physicists and engineers.

You will contribute to open-source quantum tooling, engage with research groups, and publish findings while thriving in a fast-paced, cross-functional team that values curiosity and rigorous coding

Qualifications

• BS or MS in a related field with strong physics/math background.
• Proficiency in Python; ability to upskill in Python if needed.
• Experience with quantum algorithms for physical sciences (QPE, VQE, etc.).
• Experience with quantum software frameworks Cirq or Qiskit, and possibly modifying them.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration.
• Willingness to work in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.
• Office presence at least three days per week.

Responsibilities

• Conduct R&D toward advances in quantum tech with focus on nuclear physics.
• Write and test code applying quantum algorithms to nuclear problems.
• Collaborate with external groups using quantum computing for nuclear physics.
• Contribute to development of government and commercial nuclear proposals.
• Bridge theory and implementation with experimental teams and software engineers.
• Publish research findings and present at conferences.
• Stay updated on quantum algorithms and nuclear physics developments.
• Provide guidance and foster a collaborative research environment.
