Job summary

Cisco Quantum Research seeks a System Engineer to design and deploy rack-level quantum systems for customer data centers and research facilities. You will coordinate power distribution, RF/microwave routing, thermal management, and fiber routing within multi-chassis racks, ensuring reliability and compliance with industry standards.

You will lead cross-disciplinary integration, establish assembly and test infrastructure, and serve as the technical authority for delivering coordinated rack

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of related experience, or Master's with 8+ years, or PhD with 5+ years.
• 7+ years in designing, integrating, and deploying high-density electro-mechanical, optoelectronic, or telecom racks.
• Experience in 3D CAD software and rack layout design following EIA-310, with enclosure and cable routing.
• Experience with AC/DC power distribution, grounding, safety isolation, and thermal management.
• Experience with standard optical telecom components and optical data center racks.

Responsibilities

• Build and architect multi-chassis, rack-level quantum systems for data centers and customers.
• Integrate RF/microwave routing and fiber management for low loss and reliability.
• Define assembly and test infrastructure to scale Cisco's quantum hardware platform delivery.
• Unify disparate engineering outputs into manufacturable rack architectures for site acceptance.
