Atom Computing in Boulder, CO is seeking a Hardware Engineering Manager to lead mixed-signal PCB and hardware development for quantum control systems. This player-coach role blends leadership with hands-on design and integration across cross-functional teams.

You'll mentor engineers, drive schedules, manage vendor relationships, and push robust, scalable solutions from concept to production while ensuring quality and manufacturability in a high-precision environment.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
• 8+ years as a hardware engineer with PCB fabrication and vendor experience.
• 2+ years people management including hiring and performance management.
• Lead hardware projects from design through manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of hardware engineers for PCB design, bring-up and test.
• Collaborate with quantum physicists and engineers to guide hardware roadmap.
• Manage PCB fabrication and assembly vendor relationships and lead times.
• Drive root-cause investigations and corrective actions for defects.
• Oversee projects from definition to production with milestones and risks.
• Drive design and verification process improvements for scale and quality.
