About Conductor Quantum

Conductor Quantum is building quantum computers on silicon chips. Our software automates the calibration and tune-up of semiconductor qubits—turning raw hardware into a ready-to-run platform. By eliminating the biggest bottleneck in quantum computing (manual device configuration), we’re enabling thousands (and eventually billions) of qubits to operate reliably at scale.

This is your opportunity to do the best work of your life, shaping the future of computing as part of a small, passionate team of quantum physicists, hardware engineers, and machine learning experts.

Role Overview: Quantum Engineer

As a Quantum Engineer, you will directly shape Conductor Quantum’s core offerings—software systems that analyze device data in real-time, optimize qubit parameters, and seamlessly integrate with both on-premise and cloud infrastructures. You will architect, build, and maintain the next-generation control and calibration stack while collaborating closely with customers, physicists, and hardware engineers. This is a high-impact, high-ownership role, where you will define best practices, influence product strategy, and help lay the foundation for Conductor Quantum’s culture and growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Quantum Device Fabrication & Bring-Up: Take quantum dot devices from the lab bench to operational readiness. Perform wire bonding, device packaging, and chip mounting for cryogenic testing. Design and fabricate custom PCBs for signal routing, filtering, and integration with control electronics.
  • Experimental Setup & Measurement Infrastructure: Build and maintain cryogenic measurement setups, including dilution refrigerators, fridge wiring, and line testing. Specify, install, and test hardware components such as low-noise amplifiers, DC lines, filters, bias tees, and microwave components. Develop robust procedures for cooldowns, thermal cycling, and system diagnostics.
  • Device Tuning & Characterization: Run transport, rf-reflectometry, and charge sensing measurements to identify quantum dot and spin qubit formation, tune gate voltages, and extract stability diagrams. Optimize device configurations through iterative tuning, and collaborate with software and machine learning teams to close the loop on automated calibration routines.
  • Lab Development & Instrument Control: Lead the setup and scaling of the experimental lab environment. Define lab requirements, specify measurement equipment, and manage lab logistics. Write or adapt control software to interface with waveform generators, DACs, and lock-in amplifiers.
  • Collaboration & System Integration: Work closely with physicists, ML engineers, and backend developers to integrate hardware, software, and data pipelines into a unified quantum control stack. Provide feedback on usability, stability, and performance from a hardware and systems perspective.
Other Perks
  • Free healthcare, dental, and vision insurance.
