Job description

The Consultant will hold a senior role within Quantinuum’s consulting and advisory function, combining client delivery, business development, and practice contribution in one of Finance, Chemicals & Materials or Pharmaceuticals verticals. The role is intended for an experienced consulting professional with a strong technical foundation in quantum computing. The Consultant will be accountable for shaping advisory engagements and helping develop long-term client relationships.

The Consultant will work directly with enterprise clients to identify, frame, and address strategic questions related to the adoption and application of quantum technologies. This role requires a fundamental understanding of quantum computing concepts, capabilities, and limitations. This will involve translating early-stage discussions into clearly scoped advisory engagements and leading delivery through structured analysis, synthesis, and executive-level recommendations that support informed decision-making.

The Consultant will play an active role in developing and expanding advisory work within existing and new client relationships. This will include recognising emerging client needs, shaping proposals and statements of work, and collaborating closely with Strategic Account Executives and consulting leadership to support account strategy and initiate new advisory engagements aligned with broader commercial priorities.

The role will involve ownership of day-to-day client engagement direction and quality. The Consultant will lead workshops and working sessions, act as the primary advisor to senior client stakeholders, and maintain responsibility for engagement coherence, delivery standards, and client confidence throughout the engagement lifecycle.

Beyond individual engagements, the Consultant will contribute to the development of Quantinuum’s consulting capability. This will include refining advisory methodologies, developing reusable assets informed by quantum computing expertise, and articulating clear points of view that can be applied consistently across clients and industry verticals. The Consultant will work closely with product, software, and research teams to ensure advisory work reflects Quantinuum’s technical capabilities and strategic direction.

The Consultant will be expected to combine structured consulting discipline with sound professional judgement. This will be supported by sufficient depth in quantum computing to engage credibly on the technology. The role supports both client outcomes and the continued maturation of Quantinuum’s advisory offering.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engagement Delivery: Lead consulting engagements through structured problem definition, analysis, and development of client-ready recommendations, grounded in an understanding of quantum computing capabilities.
  • Problem Solving: Break down complex business or technical problems into actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Client Impact: Lead client discussions, interviews, and working sessions; guide stakeholders through analysis and implications.
  • Business Development: Identify opportunities to expand existing engagements and shape new advisory work, including contributing to proposals and statements of work.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with hardware, software, product, and research teams to integrate technical perspectives into advisory engagements.
  • Practice Contribution: Contribute to the development of advisory methodologies, reusable assets, and thought leadership materials, informed by a solid understanding of quantum computing.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
  • 5+ years’ experience in consulting, advisory, strategy, transformation, or analytical roles within professional services or advanced-technology environments.
  • Strong ability to synthesise technical quantum computing and business information and produce clear, structured recommendations.
  • Comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders and technical quantum computing subject-matter experts.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with quantum computing technology is required.
