Job summary

Google Quantum AI is seeking a Quantum Device Layout and Simulation Engineer to support layout and simulations backend/frontend for quantum processors and related DC/RF devices. You will work with custom programmatic CAD layout tools and Finite Element tools to enable end-to-end design, validation, and iteration across the team.

The role emphasizes agile research collaboration, maintaining scalable workflows, and ongoing improvements to layout and simulation tooling used by many designers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in EE/CE/CS/Physics or related field.
• 3 years of experience with Python or other programming languages and git version control.
• 3 years of experience with Electromagnetic simulations and Finite Element Simulation tools (Ansys HFSS, Comsol, etc).

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain and improve layout and simulation infrastructure for quantum processors and related devices.
• Document design, layout, and simulation processes and integrations with other teams.
• Collaborate with designers to release and upgrade layout and simulation software.
