Job summary

Infleqtion seeks a highly skilled Quantum Physicist to advance our atom-based quantum computers. You will lead R&D on laser systems, QPUs, and gate protocols, while translating atomic physics models into actionable system designs.

The role emphasizes autonomous initiative, collaboration with a fast-paced team, and hands-on software for experiments and tuning. A PhD or equivalent experience is required.

Qualifications

• PhD in AMO or related field or 4+ years of professional experience.
• Experience with lasers, AOMs, RF generators and UHV systems.
• Python proficiency for running physics experiments.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and in agile teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, calibrate and maintain Quantum Computers based on neutral atoms.
• Lead R&D projects for laser systems, QPUs, and quantum gate protocols.
• Create and test models of atomic physics to inform system design.
• Self-start and drive new R&D activities within constraints.
• Develop, test, and debug software for experiments and tuning.
• Design, assemble, and test laser and optical systems.
• Own subsystems to ensure high availability and performance.
• Mentor juniors and supervise interns.
