Imec is seeking a Compute R&D Project Leader to head a team delivering innovative compute devices from concept to validation. You will coordinate with fab managers, network with experts, and align project plans with customer expectations to ensure milestones are met.

You will drive technical leadership and cross-functional collaboration, fostering continuous improvement and responsive problem solving in a fast-paced research environment at imec's Leuven HQ.

Formación

• PhD or MSc in microelectronics, electrical engineering, physics, applied physics, materials science or related field.
• Minimum 5 years experience in semiconductor field (Process, Integration, Device, Reliability and/or Design).
• Experience with integration flows related to Compute technologies (Logic, 3D, Quantum computing, Nano-interconnect).

Compute R&D Project Leader

What you will do

As a Compute project leader, you will be leading the team to develop innovative devices for Compute (e.g. Logic, 3D, Quantum computing, Nano-interconnect) applications, from the design phase until the device validation. Your goal will be to demonstrate the technology in agreement with the external customer and IMEC's R&D strategy. You will align with the expert teams, resource, and FAB managers to best define and implement your plan.

You will be responsible for leading the team technically and operationally, promoting interactions and innovations. Your open communication, enthusiasm and drive will be key to create a strong team and reach your goals.

Together with the operational managers, you will monitor the performance and resources of your project and ensure to stay within agreed boundaries. You will proactively manage changes, drive the acceleration of your project activities when require, escape showstoppers or issues within the organization and to the customer, and help provide solutions.

Interacting with the project customer will be an important part of your activities. From project definition until project closure, you will be the main contact. You will regularly report to the customer team, help keep a strong link with them and answer their specific requests. Your ability to receive, assess and respond efficiently to their technical proposals will be key.

Drive continuous improvement in project quality and learning speed. Bring forward new ideas and actively participate in their implementation.

Who you are

• You have a PhD degree or MSc in microelectronics, electrical engineering, physics, applied physics, material science, or a closely related discipline
• Minimum 5-year experience in the semiconductor field (Process, Integration, Device, Reliability and/or Design)
• Experience and knowledge of integration flows related to Compute technologies (Logic, 3D, Quantum computing, Nano-interconnect) is a must.
• Prior industrial experience as an R&D project manager, program manager, or team leader is a significant advantage.
• Strong customer orientation and ability to build lasting relationships.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Demonstrated enthusiasm and a commitment to continuous improvement.
