The role collaborates with software and system engineers to scale calibration workflows, contribute to quantum error correction demonstrations, and lead high‑impact research projects crossing engineering milestones.

Qualifications

• 3+ years building models for business applications.
• PhD or Master’s degree and 4+ years experience in computer science, electrical engineering, machine learning, or related field.
• Experience with patents or peer‑reviewed publications.
• Programming experience in Java, C++, Python or related language.
• Experience in algorithms, data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel and distributed computing, or high‑performance computing.

Responsibilities

• Develop novel calibration and optimization routines for quantum processors.
• Test and validate experimental routines on processors housed in a cryogenic environment.
• Automate calibration workflows to verify performance of processors at scale.
• Contribute to quantum error correction demonstrations.
• Lead high‑impact research projects that intersect with engineering milestones.
• Collaborate with Software Development Engineers to create and test calibration tools.
• Work with System Engineers to define component‑level requirements as processors scale.
• Engage with quantum error correction theorists to evaluate and improve logical performance.
