Job summary

Velocity Recruitment Ltd, on behalf of a Tier 1 contractor, seeks a Quantity Surveyor to oversee MoJ projects across the Surrey area and wider London & South East for multi-site fit-out work.

You will manage costs, procurement, contract administration and commercial reporting while coordinating with project managers, clients and subcontractors to ensure on-budget delivery and high standards.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within the fit-out sector.
• Strong cost management, procurement and contract administration knowledge.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Managing costs across multiple fit out projects, from procurement through to final accounts
• Preparing cost estimates, budgets, and tender documentation
• Liaising with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure financial control and transparency
• Negotiating contracts and managing variations/valuations
• Providing regular reports and forecasts to senior management
• Supporting the commercial team to drive value and efficiency across all projects

Specialising in the public and privatesector, they work with some of the biggest names in the industry, providing fast-paced, complex, and rewarding schemes. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an Quantity Surveyor to oversee projects across their portfolio around the Surrey area.

The Role

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in managing the financial and contractual aspects of projects on MoJ projects. Working closely with project managers, clients, and subcontractors, you will ensure projects are delivered on budget and to the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities:

• Managing costs across multiple fit out projects, from procurement through to final accounts
• Preparing cost estimates, budgets, and tender documentation
• Liaising with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure financial control and transparency
• Negotiating contracts and managing variations/valuations
• Providing regular reports and forecasts to senior management
• Supporting the commercial team to drive value and efficiency across all projects

About You:

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within the fit out sector
• Strong understanding of cost management, procurement, and contract administration
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or a related field
