The Quantity Surveyor will manage cost estimation, measurement, and financial control of mining and mineral project activities. The role ensures accurate valuation of materials, labor, and operational costs across site operations.
Reporting To
Project Manager / Site Engineering Manager
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and manage cost estimates for mining operations
- Monitor project budgets, expenditures, and cost variations
- Conduct site measurements and quantity take-offs
- Evaluate contractor claims and payment certifications
- Support procurement with cost benchmarking and analysis
- Prepare financial and progress reports for project controlEnsure compliance with project cost control procedures
Education & Qualification
- Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Mining Engineering, or related technical field
Experience
- 5–10 years in mining, construction, or heavy industrial projects
- Experience in Africa or South America mining environments preferred
Technical Skills
- Cost estimation & project budgeting
- Contract administration
- Measurement & BOQ preparation
- Strong analytical and reporting ability
- Proficiency in MS Excel and project control tools
Languages
- English (required)
- Spanish (advantageous for Peru operations)
