Job summary

Google is seeking a Quantitative UX Researcher on the Geo-Makers team to measure and improve user experiences across Google Maps Platform APIs, Google Earth, Earth Engine, and related geospatial tools.

You will translate complex behavioral data into actionable insights that inform product strategy and technical specifications, collaborating with engineering and product management in a matrixed environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Psychology, Data Science, or equivalent practical experience.
• 1 year of experience in an applied research setting (e.g., product or academic), or similar.
• Experience in programming languages used for data manipulation and computational statistics (e.g., Python, R, MATLAB, C++, Java, or Go).

Responsibilities

• Query, clean, and model user interaction logs and product telemetry to understand developer workflows, drop-off points, and platform engagement across critical user journeys.
• Define, validate, and track user-centric metrics and UX key results to support product-led growth initiatives in partnership with cross-functional teams.
• Translate statistical analyses into clear and concise research briefs, dashboards, and decision frameworks for cross-functional stakeholders.
• Advance analysis-friendly telemetry schemas, logging standards, and taxonomies to evaluate emerging AI tooling, developer kits, and APIs.
• Analyze prompt and log data for artificial intelligence applications to uncover insights for product strategy and technical specifications.
