Job summary

HarbourVest is seeking a quantitative researcher to develop models for evergreen private equity portfolios. You will work with a team to leverage large proprietary datasets, build statistical models, and provide insights for portfolio management and fundraising.

The role emphasizes collaboration with the Evergreen fund team, communication of complex results, and maintaining rigorous data analysis standards in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Strong Python programming skills including numerical, statistical modeling and visualization libraries.
• SQL experience required.
• Experience with large datasets and rigorous statistical analysis.
• Monte-Carlo simulation methods preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct quantitative modeling and analysis to support evergreen private equity portfolios (80%).
• Lead use of proprietary datasets and models to characterize market risk/return, liquidity, and stress events.
• Communicate results and insights to the Evergreen fund team.
• Drive adoption and integration of quantitative models into portfolio construction and management.
• Respond to ad-hoc quantitative analysis requests (20%).
