Job summary

Dimensional Fund Advisors invites top students to join a summer 2027 internship in its Research Department. The nine-week, in-person program exposes interns to daily research activities, analysis, and collaboration across teams.

You will tackle projects that align with current business needs, using quantitative reasoning and programming to advance investment research. Open to undergraduates and specialized Master's candidates in finance, economics, math, statistics, CS, physics, engineering, and

Qualifications

• Minimum 3.2 GPA and expected graduation December 2027–June 2028.
• Preferred fields include finance, economics, math, stats, CS, physics, engineering or related quantitative fields.
• Excellent quantitative problem-solving and analytic skills.
• Ability to communicate financial/economic concepts clearly, both orally and in writing.
• Self-starter capable of managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
• Strong programming skills in one or more languages such as C#, C++, Fortran, R, Python, or Stata.
• Experience doing empirical research with large datasets.

Responsibilities

• Perform analysis on portfolios and prospective strategies.
• Execute and analyze simulations for asset pricing models and economics studies.
• Conduct empirical research related to Dimensional’s investment strategies and topics.
• Review relevant academic papers and present findings to internal teams.
• Collaborate with investment and client services to answer questions.
