Job summary

Dimensional Fund Advisors seeks a motivated IE Analyst intern for the Investment Engineering group in Austin. The nine-week program is fully in-person and exposes interns to day-to-day IE activities aligned with current business needs.

You will apply quantitative reasoning and programming skills (C#, Python, R) to manage data, build tools, and analyze portfolios, gaining insight into the firm’s data distribution and investment process.

Qualifications

• GPA 3.2 or higher and pursuing an undergrad or specialized master’s degree with an expected graduation date Dec 2027–Jun 2028.
• Preferred fields include finance, economics, mathematics, information systems, computer science, data science, physics, and engineering.
• Experience working with data; knowledge of databases and query language (T-SQL, SAS) is highly considered.
• Programming skills (C#, Python, R, Stata, Java) are highly considered.
• Strong logic skills and clear written and oral communication.

Responsibilities

• Help manage and distribute quality data and analysis for portfolio management and sales processes.
• Build new tools to enhance investment processes.
• Define and build data structures for distribution of data to end consumers.
• Perform analysis on portfolios and prospective strategies.
• Contribute to ongoing efficiency efforts through automation and process design.
