Job summary

HarbourVest Partners (U.K.) Limited seeks an Associate Quantitative Developer for its Quantitative Investment Science team in a hybrid Boston-based role. You will design and build user-facing apps and backend services, develop reusable UI components, and enhance data pipelines using modern tools.

Collaborate with product and design to shape requirements and deliver robust solutions. The role requires 3+ years of software development and strong SQL, Python/TypeScript, and cloud experience.

Qualifications

• Requires 3+ years of professional software development experience building data-rich platforms or products.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field.
• Experience with modern web apps and UI components using React and TypeScript.
• Strong SQL skills with complex queries and data access patterns.
• Experience with Python and/or TypeScript.
• Experience with Azure or comparable cloud environments and DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain user-facing applications and the backend services and APIs that support them.
• Develop reusable UI components and shared platform capabilities used across applications.
• Support gradual rollouts and feature flags to ship changes safely as the platform evolves.
• Build and improve data pipelines and integrations across the platform.
• Collaborate with product and design to translate problems into technical designs.
• Manage delivery expectations and drive projects through completion.
• Contribute to engineering culture with code reviews, knowledge sharing, and documentation.
• Improve CI/CD, automated testing, and observability.
