Job summary

HarbourVest Partners is seeking an Associate, Quantitative Developer to join the Quantitative Investment Science team. You will design user-facing applications and backend APIs, build reusable UI components, and contribute to data pipelines, models, and cloud infrastructure.

The role emphasizes collaboration with product and design, strong engineering fundamentals, and a passion for reliable, scalable software in a fast-paced environment. Hybrid work and a discretionary annual bonus are included.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) or equivalent experience
• Bachelor of Science (B.S.) or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain user-facing applications and the backend services and APIs that support them
• Develop reusable UI components and shared platform capabilities used across applications
• Support gradual rollouts and feature flags to ship changes safely as the platform evolves
• Build and improve data pipelines and integrations across the platform, and contribute to logical and physical data models
• Work directly with product and design to understand problems, shape requirements, and turn them into clear technical designs
• Partner with product to review, triage, and resolve issues and defects
• Manage delivery expectations and drive projects through completion
• Contribute to a strong engineering culture through code review, knowledge sharing, and documentation that lets teams build with confidence
• Improve developer tooling, CI/CD, automated testing, and observability (logging, metrics, and telemetry) that keep applications and services reliable
