About the Role

Our Moog Industrial Group is looking for a Quality Transformation Engineer to join them. You will report to the Quality Transformation Manager and will have an onsite work schedule in Murphy, North Carolina. The Quality Transformation Engineer plays a critical role in advancing Moog’s enterprise-wide Quality Transformation journey. This role is responsible for developing, standardizing, and deploying systems that embed quality into every step of the value stream — from supplier through final assembly and shipment. This includes ensuring that all external suppliers meet Moog’s performance expectations for delivery, quality, and conformance to design specifications, and that customers receive defect‑free, reliable products. The engineer will occasionally engage directly with customers to support audits, resolve product or process issues, and collaborate on improvement initiatives that strengthen Moog’s reputation as a trusted partner.

Responsibilities
  • Drive quality excellence across manufacturing and the supply chain by developing and sustaining standardized quality systems, improving process capability, and implementing Built‑In Quality principles.
  • Partner with cross‑functional teams and suppliers to reduce defects, improve reliability, and ensure compliance with customer, engineering, and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives focused on reducing variation, waste, and process complexity.
  • Manage supplier quality performance, audits, qualifications, corrective actions, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Apply structured problem‑solving methodologies (8D, DMAIC, A3, 5‑Why) to identify root causes and prevent recurrence.
  • Analyze quality and supplier performance data to drive proactive improvements and support real‑time performance monitoring.
  • Facilitate Kaizen events, coach teams and suppliers on quality tools, SPC, PFMEA, and mistake‑proofing techniques.
  • Support quality transformation initiatives and promote continuous improvement aligned with Lean/Shingo principles.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Procurement, Supply Chain, and customers to ensure quality is built into products and processes from design through production.
  • Represent Quality during customer reviews, audits, investigations, and supplier engagement activities.
