Brief Description

  • Handle and move (e.g., pack, feed, palletize) process specific material/product consistent with the assigned position, the machine speed, and customer and quality specifications.
  • Ensure that all materials associated with the converting process and consistent with the assigned position are available in the correct quantities and in the correct location for order being run. (e.g., RSCs, dividers, bags, film, blanks, etc.)
  • Perform process and product specific quality inspections, complete Quality Control documentation, and communicate any quality issues to the Operator and Supervisor.
  • Record data on specified forms and complete required documentation.
  • Use RF scanner for process specific requirements to scan transactions to the Warehouse Management and to generate load tags.
  • Prepare, unwrap, wrap loads using hand wrapper/ stretch wrapper/banding equipment following the wrapping/banding requirements for the process specific product/material and for assigned position.
  • Use sit down forklift, clamp truck (process specific), and manual/ electric pallet jack consistent with assigned position to stage pallets/product/materials in designated area. (Training available)
  • Dispose of process specific waste material following all safety requirements and waste disposal procedures for assigned position. Assist the machine operator and perform equipment and process specific tasks.
  • Remove jams at machine position and restart machine as required by position.
  • Communicate any machine or product issues to the Operator or Supervisor. Perform general housekeeping in the work area and assist others as required during machine down time.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures including GMP, PPE, HACCP, LOTO, and JSA regulations.
  • Responsible for ensuring, where applicable, the product safety, quality, regulatory compliance, and legality of all products produced and sold

Brief Description

Required Skills And Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, or previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is usually needed.
  • Equivalent experience or experience multi-tasking in a fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to use RF scanner for WMS transactions as required for position.
  • Ability to operate a manual pallet jack and/or an electric pallet jack as required for position.
  • Ability to use material handling devices such as a hoist and a pneumatic lift assist handling device as required for position.
  • Must be able to read, understand and comprehend documents such as safety rules, internal quality procedures, and machine operating procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills and must have the ability to communicate production issues to supervisors and others in work area. Basic mathematics (i.e., counting).

Work in accordance with all company policies and procedures regarding

employment, safety, quality, product safety and legality, security, and regulatory compliance as applicable.

Requirements

  • Perform product safety inspections and Glass, Hard Brittle Plastic Audit as required. Keep records and logs as appropriate.
  • Perform incoming inspection and testing on material received from various suppliers. Identify status of material and properly approve/reject material.
  • Work with Plant team on tool qualifications and trials. Perform measurements and data entry as needed. Work with QEM on accepting/rejecting trials based on quality expectations.
  • Ensure that quality protocols are followed.
  • Ensure “Scrap Protocol” is followed.
  • Ensure that parts sampled meet manufacturing specifications.
  • Identify/tag and quarantine nonconforming product.
  • Ensure that the lines are audited, and quality issues are reported and resolved for the lines that are in their area of responsibility.
  • Ensure that data is entered into the appropriate database.
  • Work with the Supervisor to rework small quantities of production on hold, provided such is consistent with Scrap Protocol.
  • Audits product and process to verify conformance to standards and specifications.
  • Write and submit audit report to supervisory personnel as required.
  • Performs all necessary tests as required by Quality Matrix.
  • Recognize common visual defects.
  • Prepare all the required paperwork and forms.
  • Function in team environment
  • Communicate with all personnel involved.
  • Obtain prescribed samples and perform specified tests.
  • Work as a team in assisting in solving operations issues.
  • Verify that data is adhering to quality assurance specifications.
  • Communicate quality related information to operations in a timely manner.
  • Ability to perform all job functions in a safe manner.
  • Reports any equipment that is not operating according to quality assurance standards to Quality Manager.
  • Maintain tidy and organized quality lab.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Detailed and multitask oriented.
  • Good communication skills with all team members.
  • General knowledge of computer uses and Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
  • Must have flexibility to work extra hours or different shifts, if required.
  • Ability to learn quickly.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus

Experience

  • Minimum 3 months in manufacturing.

WORK ENVIRONMENT – HOURLY POSITIONS

Our manufacturing plant is not environmentally controlled. Changes in humidity and temperature occur throughout the year. Although machine noise is a constant, conditions are maintained within standards that meet OSHA mandated requirements, and which our Safety Committee monitors.
