A leading utility provider is looking for a Maintenance Technician or Trainee to carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on various equipment at water treatment plants. The role requires a high school diploma and relevant experience, with opportunities for advancement to a technician level and necessary certifications in CPR and First Aid.
Maintenance Technician or Trainee
JOB SUMMARY
Performs preventive and corrective maintenance and repairs on all electrical, electronic and mechanical equipment used and operated at water treatment plants, pump stations and telemetering stations.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN TRAINEE
A High School Diploma or GED, supplemented by one (1) year of experience in mechanical and/or electrical maintenance and repair work; or possession of any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must be able to obtain a Distribution Operator "D" classification, within 2 years. Valid South Carolina driver's license. Must obtain and maintain CPR and First Aid certifications. Advancement to Facilities Maintenance Technician: 1 years' experience as Trainee, along with meeting the above criteria and training requirements of career path.
MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN
A High School Diploma or GED supplemented by two (2) years of experience in mechanical and/or electrical maintenance and repair work in an industrial environment; or possession of any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Should have general understanding of how to operate and conduct basic maintenance of equipment used in a water system. Should have experience with a CMMS program and how it is utilized. Must be able to obtain a Distribution Operator "D" classification, within 2 years. Valid South Carolina driver's license. Must obtain and maintain CPR and First Aid certifications.
